Our Spanish immersion daycare welcomes infants as young as 2 months old into a warm, nurturing bilingual environment where children are cared for as individuals and Spanish becomes a natural part of their everyday experience.

From the moment they arrive, infants are surrounded by caring teachers who talk, sing, play, comfort, and connect with them in Spanish throughout the day. Babies don't have formal language lessons—just meaningful, everyday interactions that let language develop naturally through relationships, routines, and play.

Spanish Immersion from the Very Beginning

Babies don't need to sit down for a Spanish lesson to begin experiencing another language.

At Language Arts Academy, Spanish is woven naturally into the rhythm of the day. Teachers use Spanish during greetings, play, songs, meals, caregiving routines, movement, and everyday conversations.

Children hear Spanish consistently and meaningfully while experiencing the warmth and connection that make language memorable.

For a daycare infant room, a good daily schedule should be flexible rather than rigid, because babies need feeding and sleep based on their individual routines. Here is a practical sample for babies approximately 2–17 months old.

Sample Baby Day in Daycare

6:30–8:00 AM Arrival & Individual

Care: Warm greetings, diaper checks, bottles/breakfast as needed, quiet floor play, individual interaction with teachers.

8:00–8:30 AM Exploration & Free Play

Tummy time, reaching and grasping toys, soft blocks, mirrors, sensory toys, crawling and movement opportunities.

8:30–9:00 AM Music & Language

Spanish songs, nursery rhymes, simple fingerplays, teachers naming objects, body parts, colors, and familiar people.

9:00–10:00 AM Individual Feeding / Nap / Play

Bottles and naps according to each baby's schedule. Awake babies participate in supervised play and teacher interaction.

10:00–10:30 AM Outdoor / Gross-Motor Time

Stroller walk, fresh air, supervised outdoor exploration, crawling, standing, walking or age-appropriate movement.

10:30–11:00 AM Learning Experience

Sensory exploration, cause-and-effect toys, textures, stacking, containers, simple art or teacher-guided activities.

11:00 AM–12:00 PM Lunch & Individual Care

Bottles or parent-provided meals according to each child's feeding plan; diapering and handwashing.

12:00–2:30 PM Rest & Individual Routines

Individual naps following safe-sleep practices. Quiet activities and one-on-one interaction for awake babies.

2:30–3:00 PM Feeding & Diapering

Bottles/snacks as appropriate, diaper changes, and individual attention.

3:00–3:30 PM Story & Language Time

Board books, picture identification, Spanish vocabulary, songs, and conversations with teachers.

3:30–4:15 PM Motor & Sensory Development

Crawling, reaching, pulling to stand, walking practice, balls, tunnels, sensory materials, and manipulatives.

4:15–5:00 PM Outdoor / Exploration

Outdoor play or indoor gross-motor activities depending on weather and each baby's needs.

5:00–5:30 PM Individual Care & Departure

Diapering, bottles as scheduled, calm play, books, and individual teacher interaction while families arrive.

Our infant schedule is individualized and responsive. Feeding, diapering, and sleeping occur according to each baby's individual needs and family instructions. The times shown are a guide for classroom experiences rather than a fixed schedule.

Throughout the day, teachers also intentionally support language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development, as well as responsive teacher-child interactions. For a Spanish-immersion infant classroom, Spanish does not need to be a separate “lesson”—teachers can naturally use Spanish during diapering, feeding, floor play, transitions, songs, and one-on-one conversations.

For very young babies, the program centers on responsive caregiving, secure relationships, language-rich interactions, safe movement, and exploration.
